Cranky Interstate ride- Day 5

It was not cycling day and purely a sightseeing day to reward our few day of hardship. We went for the famous chicken rice ball. We got our seat after 30 minutes of queuing but worth the effort. After lunch we went for river crusing. We then spent another hour forging through traffic jam to reach Sam Poh temple.

Everybody is happy after a few days of riding

At 2pm we checked out and started journey home by car.

Effects of few day riding under the sun

On the wy back, we stopped by for the famous chicken ride.

It really worth the que

it was a wonderful 5 days trip. We plan to ride down to east coast next year.

Cranky Interstate ride--day 4

The last major stride of 84km was joint by some young riders brought along by Peng.

Our young riders
hahahah, it is the last ride for the trip

We actually stay at the apartment beside this hotel.

Wooi ‘the pirate’ was giving some ride tips to uncle

We started at 730am at the opposite lane of a mini triathlon. We started charging full speed after the first pit stop at 25km. Then we had breakfast at some seaside.

Let us pose by the sea

From there the team split. Senyum decided to lead the slower 2nd group of Christene and uncle Yam Chye. Another 2 hour later and after a puncture tyre, the team reached Ayer Keroh.

somewhere between Masjid Tanah and Ayer Keroh. We have a new support car for the day by Peng’s wife.

We were caught in a small hiccups, the Pejabat Belia dan Sukan officer was not responding to our call. We started to make plan B to have our Melaka friend to help certify our cert for us the next day. Anyhow, luck was on our side, we eventually got hold of another lady officer. She was about to leave for Kuala Lumpur but was nice enough to sign for all our 7 certs nearby her house at Batu Berendam.

Our last stop

After the photo session, we headed towards Melaka town. We had late lunch at Batu Beremdam, for wantan mee again.

As dusk set in we made a quick tour to A-Farmosa. We were lucky enough to cycle up St Paul’s church before night kicks in. Wooi had a small fall as he went down the stairs his shoes locked onto the pedal and everybody decided to push our bike down rather than riding.

Yeah, we have done it.

Everybody is happy

We are at the top of Melaka
After another 1 hour of city tour, we went back to the hotel to bath. The night was spent at Jonker Street for dinner. We hanged out till 1245am before going back.

Cranky Interstate ride--day 3

Day 3

Knowing the unforgiving sun if we started late, we started before 7am for the day. Anyhow, it was a tough trip. Traffic was heavy as we headed towards Klang. Matter was worsen by the fac that road condition was not good with lots of uneven patches. There were also some minor wrong turns while finding our ways.

Early start of the day after breakfast

The coffee shop boss were even called in from his house to make coffee for our batch of unexpected early customers

Passing Klang was a big deal, with lots of cars and confusing junctions. Our riders eventually did better than the support cars, as they could go against the traffic flow while the cars were trapped. We eventually had to wait for the cars to find their way ouf from the city. By then it was 11am and the sun started to show its full strength. We made another wrong turn. Uncle and Christene lost their way and was ferried by car for about 10km until our next pit stop at a Petronas nearby Dengkil and KLIA.

Posing for Klang and its landmark

It was decided that uncle and Christine would continue after our next pit stop. Then started the most punishing part of the day’s journey. Blazing hote sun, minor rolling hills and strong head winde challenged our mindset. We pressed on till our next stop at Sepang, where we ate chicken rice and wantan mee (again).

The pirate and ninja riders are here …

Lifting the bike has nothing to do with Sepang F1 circuit, but all of us did it. Ah Wei is showcasing his strength here and rightly deserves it. He is our strongest and fastest rider.
Let’s toast for our good lunch at Sepang. Cheers

Then came the real rolling hills all the way up to Lukut. From Lukut onwards, the hills were not that high as we made our final crals to Port Dickson. The Pejabat Belia and Sukan offier was kind enough to wait for us beyond office hour.

150km for today trip and ended at Pork Dickson
Later, we checked into our supposingly most luxury stay for the journey, but it turned to be the most troublesome. First, we told we were given the wrong room, making us shifting all our cycles and belongings to many floors away. Then one of the room got no water and were shifted again.

The view from our hotel is the only nice thing about the hotel at Pork Dickson

Anyhow, we were compensated with good dinner. Flower lost her camera by leaving it at the restaurant but eventually we got it back.

Good food here

Our couple is too full from the dinner?

Cranky Interstate ride- Day 2

2nd Day

We departed Sitiawan after a long breakfast, where Flower and Ling has prepared some nice fulfilling food. We actually departed late, which eventually cause us to be late for the day trip.

2nd day trip is the easiest trip as the road condition is good, straight and plain. We were cruising at 28-30km/h the whole way. The weather is nice until we cross the Perak River for our 2nd pit stop. Christine went onto the support car.

beautiful padi field before reaching Perak River

crossing Perak river bridge

The sun was blazing after 2nd pit stop. At our 3rd pit stop we knew we were late for today’s trip. At the 3rd pit stop nearby Sabak Bernam, some of us were contemplating to cut short the trip and went onto the car. Anyhow eventually we pressed on.

At 3rd pit stop

After a exhausting ride, we reached Sekinchan for the delicious Wan Tan Mee. It was one of the best I have tried before, the noodle is very Q.

Wantan mee
Another 24 km later, we finally reached today destination at Kuala Selangor. Like 1st day, we stopped at the Pejabat Belia dan Sukan. The branch head was very excited with our arrival and we had a photo session with all the staffs

Kuala Selangor
The lodging for 2nd day was at a river side house with a verandah built on the sea. It was very nice view. We even took bath of the verandah.

Before dinner, we visited Kota Melawati and enjoyed some great time with some overly friendly monkeys. They would happily hang onto your body if they spotted food in your hands.
